 Arbor 2012

Ok so last week at the first ever Longboard expo Arbor really got the ball rolling with their new 2012 range. From what it looks like they are really trying to expand as a longboard company into the downhill/freeride market.

So firstly we have the new drop through deck. Looks very similar to the Vugenhausen but with larger wings or gas pedals and a small amount of taper to the deck. The concave also looks nice and sharp at the edges which will keep you locked in through those sharp corners and slides. The nose/tails on this thing don't look amazingly durable poking out like that, but you never know. Maybe Arbor has come up with a new ultra durable wood?

Next onto 'The Prodigy' below. This deck looks to be a micro dropped Vugenhausen with nice sharp edged pockets. The only  information on this board at the moment is that it is 38 inches long and 9.85 inches wide with a 30 inch wheelbase. It is said to be made from 7 wooden plys and 4 fibreglass plys. This should give it a nice solid feel and hopefully a long lasting life.
